Canon 40D Blimp System Print E-mail
The Canon 40D aerial photography blimp system is versatile and extremely capable. Using Canon’s top of line 40D camera and USM/IS lenses, you have one of the best cameras available and you can send it up to heights as much 1,000 feet! Even though it is a Digital SLR, you still have complete control over pan/tilt and zoom. Just frame the shot you see on the wireless ground station’s 5.5” LCD color monitor, which is the exact scene the camera is going to take a picture of. No guessing at zoom levels or compensating for differences in focal length or perspective. What you see is what you get!

The 40D is a heavy system and requires a 15 ft. (4.6m) blimp which is included. The larger blimp handles winds up to 15mph when properly rigged. The blimp’s side surface area is great for advertising your aerial photography service while you are out on a job! Although it is a large blimp, one person can manage the complete system. The 40D pan/tilt unit shares many of the same characteristics of the smaller systems but has a larger frame, much larger tilt servo to hold angle, and has a nylon wing-nut with cotter key instead of quick-release.

Features:
• Unlimited rotation
• 100 degree tilt
• U-joint self-leveler
Canon EOS 40D Camera: 10 mpx, auto-focus. DPREVIEW
• RC transmitter controls pan, tilt, zoom and trigger!
• Large 5.5" Color LCD Monitor

Typical Uses for the 40D System:
• Large, detailed shots that will be used at different enlargements
• Intended for an active, commercial aerial photographer
• Real estate photos
• Condo photos, from floor views to building elevations to oblique site shots
• Microwave tower site surveys
• Altitude landscape photos of parks, monuments, cities and towns
• Everything the smaller systems can do

Rastered art will work only for digital graphics but MUST BE ACTUAL PRINTED SIZE. Anything smaller will not reproduce well. Typical programs used for rastered art are Adobe Photoshop and Paintshop Pro. (.jpg, .tif, .psd, 100dpi) Rastered art is not useable for vinyl graphics.
Digital graphics are only available on white or two-toned inflatables.

Polyurethane versus PVC

Compared to alternatives our products are more cost-effective. A major reason is that we use a better-performing material called Polyurethane, which is designed to hold the Helium molecule. Cheaper products made of PVC or urethane-coated nylon lose helium quickly - which increases your costs. That means a cheap product costs more in the long term.
